Stephen V. Beckett, PT, a 35 year resident of Maine will tell you, "I'm just a kid from Orange County and I swear I mean you no harm!" His friends and peers call him a renaissance man. "It's my work he'd say, I do it for pay." (Dylan) Born and raised a quarter mile from Disneyland in southern California explains "most of what's wrong with me." Stephen's always had a compulsion for doing things his own way, and pretty much always has. He built his own house and homesteaded back in '76, and built a harness and leather-goods business up in central Maine out of thin air. Then he learned the healing arts, "switched to live hide", and later graduated from the University of New England with honors, with a degree in Physical Therapy. The month of his fathers passing, he took up oil painting. The rest is here for you to see...

I've studied with, been critiqued by and received encouragement from Brita Holmquist, Janet Manyan, David Campbell, Patricia Cobb, Barbara Loring, Alex Rheault, Andrea Kennett, Nancy Bowker, David Travers, Pam Lord, friends, family and the public at large. I love Da Vinci, Rembrandt, the Impressionists and the Post Impressionists most. You ask me why do I paint? Light!
